What does democracy mean when your country is fighting for its future? And what does the prospect of joining the European Union mean to a young Ukrainian living in Denmark?
Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine has made the fight for freedom, democracy, and European values a lived reality for millions of Ukrainians. For young Ukrainians, the war raises profound questions about their country’s future, their own identity, and the kind of society they want to help build.
In this event, we invite you to explore Ukraine’s democratic aspirations and its path towards EU membership through the personal perspective of a young Ukrainian living in Denmark. We will discuss what democracy and European belonging mean in the context of war, what motivates Ukraine’s European ambitions, and how living in Denmark shapes the way young Ukrainians see the EU and its values.
The event offers an opportunity for open conversation, reflection, and exchange of perspectives on democracy, solidarity, and Europe’s future.
The event is planned in collaboration with Ukrainian Dialogues and European Youth Denmark.
It is free to participate, but registration is needed in order to get the webinar link.
