Join us for this edition of European Tuesdays, developed in collaboration with the Representation of the Faroe Islands in Copenhagen, The Copenhagen Post, and the Danish European Movement.

Date: 22/09/2026

Time: 16:00-17:30

Location: Strandgade 91, 1401 København

In an open and engaging setting, the discussion will explore:

  • The Faroe Islands’ relationship with the European Union and its approach to strengthening European cooperation, and the opportunities and challenges of developing a closer partnership.
  • The evolving security landscape in the North Atlantic and the strategic importance of the Faroe Islands for European security and resilience
  • The role of fisheries, trade, research, energy, and sustainable development in strengthening cooperation between the Faroe Islands and Europe
  • The Faroe Islands’ priorities for European cooperation in a time of shifting alliances and new geopolitical realities

We are pleased to Gunnar Holm-Jacobsen, Head of the Representation of the Faroe Islands in Copenhagen, who will share perspectives on the Faroe Islands’ strategic outlook and its vision for a stronger partnership with the European Union, with a particular focus on European cooperation, the North Atlantic, security, trade, and the future of Faroese-European relations.

The event offers a chance to gain fresh insights, engage in meaningful conversation, and connect with diplomats, professionals, and internationally minded participants in an informal atmosphere.

Whether your interest lies in European affairs, Nordic cooperation, fisheries, security, trade, the Arctic and North Atlantic, or the Faroe Islands’ role in shaping Europe’s future, or you are simply curious about the Faroese perspective on Europe, you are warmly invited to join.
